The objective of the Roundtable entitled NEW TECH IN THE FINANCIAL MARKETS is to bring together academics with the representatives of the business environment from the banking sector from the insurance sector and also from the emerging fintechs (start-ups). The workshop will be an opportunity for discussions about the challenges faced by the actors involved in the development of the sector. The main topics of the workshop will revolve around:
Blockchain technologies used for innovative payments
Artificial Intelligence used in Robot Advisory
Big Data Analytics used in Peer to Peer Lending

Vasile Alecsandru Strat
is a PhD associate professor in the Department of Statistics and Econometrics at the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, while also occupying the position of Dean of the Bucharest Business School. Vasile Alecsandru Strat is also the director of several national and international research projects funded by Horizon 2020 grants or by the business environment, being at the same time a member of the research team of other similar projects. He is currently coordinating the WP7 of the Fintech Horizon 2020 Project (www.fintech-ho2020.eu) that creates a knowledge exchange platform for assessing and managing the risks associated with fintech, regtech, and suptech activities. During the activity, Vasile Alecsandru Strat presented in international conferences and published in journals listed in international databases, over 30 scientific articles. At the same time, he has significant experience in technical assistance, monitoring and evaluation of public policies and programs, working with central level institutions.
Florin Grosu
Florin is the co-founder and COO of Traderion, the leading provider of recruitment and training software for the financial industry. Their trading and investing simulators are now being used by 90% of the 50 largest global banks and hedge funds, as well as by stock exchanges and regulators in Europe and North America. In Traderion, Florin is responsible for running the company’s operations, with a focus on coordinating the business development efforts and strategic partnerships, as well as fundraising.
In his spare time, Florin is a member of Young Leaders Club an organization of young professionals and entrepreneurs dedicated to finding the most promising students and help them achieve their potential by leveraging a global network of mentors.
